Data & AI Policy

1. When AI runs

AI processing can start when you save or update a Card. It is not limited to pressing an AI button. Depending on the content, enabled features and plan, Dekkit can extract and describe content, create a title or summary, suggest tags and Decks, transcribe audio, generate a thumbnail, or create an embedding for semantic search.

Search and the assistant can also process your query and relevant saved content. The assistant can use supported tools to find, create, update or organize content in response to your instructions. AI usage is recorded to apply plan allowances and support billing and troubleshooting.

2. What is processed

• Saved URLs, extracted webpage text, titles, notes and tags.
• Uploaded documents, images, audio, supported video or transcripts, and metadata relevant to the feature.
• Your prompt, recent conversation context and relevant Card, Deck or page context retrieved for an assistant request.
• Derived summaries, image prompts and numerical representations used for search and organization.

Saving an external URL can cause Dekkit to retrieve that page or media from its source. AI processing takes place on our servers and through the providers below; it is not confined to your device. Do not upload secrets or other people’s sensitive information without an appropriate right to have it processed. Remove unwanted location metadata from files before uploading.

3. Providers and training

The provider depends on the feature and configuration; not every item is sent to every provider.

• OpenAI: text and image understanding, embeddings, transcription, image generation and assistant responses. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in. Its API can retain abuse-monitoring records and application state. • Google Gemini: supported image generation and video analysis when enabled. Dekkit uses a project with active billing for Gemini. Google’s paid-service terms state that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products; operational and abuse-prevention processing still applies. See Gemini’s paid-service terms.
• NVIDIA/Kimi: an experimental integration, not used for production users’ content. Trial terms can permit broader data use and are not equivalent to the paid-service protections above. See NVIDIA’s trial terms.

Dekkit uses these models to process content, not to train its own foundation model on your library. This is not a blanket guarantee of zero storage, zero human review or identical rules across all providers. Provider contracts, account settings and the particular service determine their processing. We will update this information before a material change to the described use.

4. Storage and deletion

Generated descriptions, tags, thumbnails and embeddings may be saved with your content. Assistant conversations are stored so you can revisit them. Usage records include the operation, model, token consumption and associated account or content reference.

Provider retention is separate from your Dekkit library. For example, OpenAI documents up to 30 days of default abuse-monitoring retention and separate application-state retention for its Responses service, subject to applicable exceptions. Dekkit’s assistant uses that service with conversation state; we do not claim a zero-retention configuration.

Deleting a Card or conversation in Dekkit does not instantly erase provider logs or previously shared copies. Account deletion and applicable retention exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy. Contact us for an access or erasure request that includes AI history or derived data.

5. Your control

You choose what to save and what to share. You can review and edit generated content, change sharing permissions, and remove content using the available controls. Do not assume that avoiding the assistant disables automatic enrichment; Dekkit does not currently offer a global switch that guarantees all saved content bypasses AI processing.

Cookie preferences and the Product analytics setting control analytics, not the AI processing required by these product features. Contact hi@dekkit.ai before uploading if you need specific processing restrictions or have confidentiality requirements we have not agreed to meet.

6. Accuracy and responsible use

Dekkit, including its AI features, is available only to adults aged 18 or older under our Terms & Conditions.

AI can misunderstand a source, invent details, omit context or generate inappropriate results. Generated thumbnails are illustrative and may not depict the actual subject. Check original sources and review results before publishing, sharing or making decisions. AI outputs are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.

You retain the rights you have in your inputs. Generated results may not be unique or eligible for exclusive intellectual property protection. Review third-party rights before reuse. Report harmful or incorrect results through the available reporting tools or our contact address. AI organization does not decide legal rights or eligibility for employment, credit, insurance or similar consequential services.
